Microgreens and Avocado Toast

Ingredients

For the toast

  • 1 Slice of Dave's WHITE BREAD DONE RIGHT
  • 1/2 tsp butter
  • 1/2 tsp olive oil

For vegetable and spices

  • 1 small bunch sunflower microgreens, fresh
  • 1 small bunch red radish microgreens, fresh
  • 1 small bunch broccoli microgreens, fresh
  • 1 half haas avocado, smashed
  • 1 dash crushed red pepper
  • 1 dash garlic powder
  • 1 sprinkle sea salt
  • balsamic glaze(syrup)

Method

Preparing the toast

  1. Heat a medium size pan over medium or medium to high heat
  2. Melt the butter & olive oil together. Add the slice of bread and allow it to absorb a portione of the oil & butter for a moment, then quickly turn it over so can doesn’t absorb the rest of the butter and oil.
  3. Continue to toast each side on medium until the bread is brown and crispy, about 2-4 minutes.

Preparing the topping

While the bread is toasting. Mash 1 half of a ripe avocado, by simply squeezing out the inside with your hand. And if you prefer it to be more mashed, push down on it with a sturdy fork.

Put it all together

On the most buttered side of the bread slice.  Add a good dose of pioneer fresh greens sunflower microgreens.

Scoop the avocado with a soup spoon (or spatula) and add that.

Dust with sea salt, a dash of crushed red pepper and garlic powder. And lightly drizzle with balsamic glaze(syrup).

And savor! So decadent & satisfying.  To be honest, I’m not a fan of balsamic vinegar.  BUT, the balsamic glaze(syrup) takes this to a whole other level.  Almost like a spicy torte or hearty cake.
